それでも祭りは残っていた—— 前澤日出夫という男が、取材員として東日本大震災後の気仙に降り立った。多くの被災者の証言を聞くうちに、ひとりの若者に目が止まる。 彼の名は、佐々木大地。 幼なじみや先輩に襲い掛かる出来事に、心折れそうになっていた。 彼に前を向かせたのは、 小さな集落だからこその繋がり。 親密な距離感で生きている人々の、 愛おしいまでの繋がり に支えられ、佐々木大地は少しずつ成長を遂げる。そして、自分の身体の中にも、 この土地に根付いた文化や芸能 が流れていることに目覚める。 やがて前澤は見る。この集落の人々が、海を恨むことなく、 海と共に生きていこう とする姿を。その思いを、 次の世代に伝えていこう とする姿を。
People lost everything, but the festival remained. —— Maezawa Hideo visits to Kesen area as a journalist after the earthquake. While he interviews the victims, he meets a young man called Sasaki Daichi. Daichi is devastated by the tragic fate of his childhood friend and his boss’s family. However, he finds the courage to go on with the help of the close-knit local community. Thanks to the people around him, he was strongly supported and gradually made progress. And he also realized that the spirit of the traditional culture and art lives inside him. Maezawa is moved by those who chose to stay. Instead of resenting the sea, they will pass on their wisdom to the next generation. And they tried to pass on their thoughts to the next generation. —— Then, the festival begins.
「いのちてんでんこ」は、東日本大震災で九死に一生を得た人たちの、オーラルヒストリー（証言）を元に制作されたミュージカル作品です。 2013年に初演され、以降主に高等学校の芸術鑑賞会を活動の場として現在までに50公演・約5万人の子供達に「いのちの伝言」を伝えてきました。今回の映画版でも、震災から10年が経った今、当時の様子を改めて振り返り語って頂いた証言映像を用いています。
[ MESSAGE OF LIFE ] “Inochi-Tendenko” is a musical production based on the oral histories of those who survived the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. since its premiere in 2013, “Inochi Tendenko” has been performed over 50 times, mainly at high school art appreciation events, and has conveyed the message of life to some 50,000 children. The film version also uses testimonies of what it was like at the time of the disaster, now 10 years after the disaster.
「屋外での撮影シーン」と「舞台空間での撮影シーン」をミックスさせる手法により、三陸（東北地方沿岸部）の美しい風景とフィクションの世界が混ざり合う独特の世界観を作り出しました。これまでの生の舞台作品での臨場感をそのままに、より深く瑞々しく生まれ変わった、映画版「いのちてんでんこ」をお楽しみ下さい。
[ SANRIKU × THEATER ] By using a new method of mixing “outdoor scenes” with “scenes shot in the theater space,” we created a unique worldview in which the beautiful scenery of Sanriku (coastal Tohoku region) and the world of fiction are blended together. We hope you will enjoy the film version of “Inochi-Tendenko”, which has been reborn with a deeper and fresher feel while maintaining the presence of the previous live stage productions.
三陸沿岸地域は、世界でも類を見ない芸能の宝庫です。福島・宮城・岩手の三県だけで、2,000以上の郷土芸能の団体が存在していると言われています。今回の撮影にあたり、岩手県陸前高田市の「田束念仏鎧剣舞」の皆様に剣舞のご指導を賜りました。広い世代が集い、歌い踊り、同じお囃子を奏でながら暮らす。脈々と受け継がれてきた大きな流れのひと時を感じる、貴重な経験となりました。映画本編では、主人公・佐々木の出身地「瀬崎」の郷土芸能として、いのちてんでんこオリジナルの「瀬崎剣舞」が登場します。
[ TRADITIONAL DANCE ] The Sanriku area is a treasure trove of performing arts unique in the world. It is said that there are more than 2,000 local performing arts groups in Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate prefectures alone. For this filming, we were fortunate to have the “Tatsugane Nenbutsu Yoroi Kenbai” of Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, teach us their sword dance. A wide range of generations gather together to sing, dance, and live while playing the same musical accompaniment. It was a precious experience for us to feel a moment of the great flow that has been passed down from generation to generation. In the film, Inochi-Tendenko’s original “Sezaki Kenbai” appears as a local performing art of “Sezaki,” the hometown of the main character, Daichi Sasaki.
