From Daily Life to Art

\"Minna no Shirushi\" is a platform dedicated to passing the rich natural heritage and daily lives of Sanriku on to the future.

We view local performing arts and traditional industries as profound sources of creation. We foster an environment where domestic and international creators can deeply learn and co-create new value together with the local community.

Through stage works that depict the resilience of people overcoming disasters, and video productions that capture the everyday beauty of the region, we deliver the \"brilliance of life.\"

Human connection and coexistence with nature.
In an era where the world is rethinking what it means to truly \"live,\" we hope to explore and share these essential values together with you from this land.

As Memories Fade

Why has life in Sanriku endured so powerfully through cold-weather crop failures, epidemics, famines, and tsunamis? Crossing boundaries and genres, we create works exploring the meaning of performance and dance, and the roots of festivals that sustain communities.

The Roots of Festivals and Prayer

Based on survivors’ testimonies, Inochi Tendenko has delivered its message to around 60,000 people through over 60 performances at schools and universities across Japan since 2013.

Our productions also include Shishi, a musical exploring the origins of the Deer Dance, and Inochi no Kataritsugi, an omnibus play sharing disaster memories, accompanied by workshops helping children carry these stories into the future.

Currently in development, Kaminagahime unites artists who studied local performing arts during residencies in Sanriku, their host kagura groups, and overseas artists supporting the region, in a collaboration across borders and genres.

To reach wider audiences, filmed versions of these productions are scheduled for online release from January 15, 2027.
